I used the default new file settings 44k/8bit/stereo. The only other thing I changed was the DC calibration which was set to 17. I have a mixer and two turntables connected to the PC. I record and when I playback there is a tremendous amout of static/hiss comming from the background. Adjusting the EQ doesn't seem to get rid of it. What am I doing wrong. Is there any way to knock this static out in SF? I'm a newbie as if you couldn't tell. Thanks in advance. |

This is mainly because you are using 8-bit files. An 8-bit file has sound quality comparable to a telephone. Use 16- bit, 44,100KHz files to achieve CD quality sound. Ted |
