In Sony Vegas one has the option of ‘Make space bar and f12 play/pause instead of play/stop’ in the Option, Preferences, General tab. I’ve gotten used to that. Is this possible in Acid 7?

Yes. I think it is the default. Very handy. With loop points set it will restart at the loop start point. With looping off it restarts at the last point you selected with the cursor.

I know that you can customize it but I think you need to use a modifier like the Ctrl key. (This is all done under Options > Customize Keyboard.)
