Subject:SF 5.0 bug when two track editing?

I found a bug. Anyone else? I put together radio infomercials and started using Sound Forge as a two-track editor. I make a stereo file and put my dialogue on the RIGHT channel, and insert music where it's needed on the LEFT channel. I then adjust levels, trim this and that, etc., and then save it as my homemade "workplate." Oddly enough (and this has happened twice now) whenever I open my "workplate" again to made new adjustments, SF 5.0 appears to have somehow mixed the two channels, putting mirrored copies on both the LEFT and the RIGHT. HOWEVER....if you play each channel separately, you'll find that the original waves are still intact -- the music is still only on the left, and the dialogue is still only on the right. What you see is not what you get. Needless to say, I was very bummed out. The only way I could get it to reveal it's true self was to rename the file. Once that's done, the file opened correctly. Does anyone else have this problem? - tp |

When the waveform you see is not what you hear click Special->Rebuild Peak Data. If that doesn't fix it then close the file. Find where you saved the file on your hard drive and then delete its .sfk file. Re-open the file in Sound Forge. This will create a new .sfk file, and the correct waveform should now be displayed. |
