hi all, im starting to master and render some tracks for an online release and i have a question about final rendering and dithering. my audio file is 32/96 and i am using a dither plugin as the last effect on the master chain. i am using the dither to 16/44. my question is: since i am dithering to these settings, do i also have to render the file to 16/44? or can i render again at 32/96 and let the dither plugin make the change? thanks, justin Message last edited on12/22/2009 10:13:44 AM byjusscake. |

I have read so much info on dithering, ,that I finally decided there's only one time I am set on doing it. It's when I go from my 24/44 "mastered" file down to 16/44. I never use it until it's the last thing I do. So, if your MASTERING an audio file and staying at 32/96, myself, I wouldn't dither just yet. But, when you render that MASTER audio file down to 16/44, that's when I'll use dithering. I used to use dithering going from 24/44 to 24/44. then NO dithering when I render it to 16/44. But, the vocals would make me sound like I had a LISP. So, I changed my ways and used the procedures I explained above. Message last edited on12/22/2009 11:53:07 AM bykrushem. |
