Subject:digital input probs

hi everyone, I'm using soundforge with an audiowerk 8 card.
digital output works fine but when i try to record
digitally the level is extremely loud and amazingly
glitchy. i've tried matching sample rates on the record
file dialogue box but there is no real difference.
can anyone help? (digiinput works fine with VST and Logic
but not soundforge!?!)
