I've been working on a project with several midi tracks. Suddenly Acid won't open it even though it is the last saved project and I have that optioned ticked. Acid will open a newly created test project. Does this mean my project could be corrupt or failing? It seems to play OK but I'm getting nervous. Suddenly Acid 7.0 is seeming very flaky.

There should be a backup project file with the extension acd-bak. Copy it to a new name with the extension .acd and see if it opens.

Thanks, both the original and the backup will open if I click on them directly from explorer but when I closed down Acid and reopen Acid neither will automatically load as they should being the last project worked on.

It certainly is possible that AP7 can cause corruption. After many days of tedious troubleshooting, including having a tech completely test my custom built studio computer, replace a buggy video card ($250+ total expense), I have definitely concluded that one of my sessions became corrupted by AP7. So yes it can happen.

I would suggest that you open you session in question, "save as" and give it different name to work on. If it still gives you trouble, you will probably have to rebuilt the entire session. This is what I finally ended up doing but chose to do so in another program. Good luck!

I never really found the "automatically open" function to be useful. Most of the time the last project i worked on isn't the one i want now and having it auto-load just wasted a lot of time. In the cases where i do want that project, clicking File then the project name only takes half a moment.

What i find much more useful is to have a folder of project files, then double-click the one i want to work on. That launches ACID (Vegas/Forge/DVDA/CDA/etc.) and loads that project. That way i can "auto-load" whichever project i want and not be limited to just the last one.

I've been disabling "automatically open last project" on every SONY installation i've done for years now.

LOL... me too... that's one of the first things that I disable after install. I work on several different projects at a time and very rarely do I want the last one opened.

Yea, I've got a very simple project right now that opens and the wave form for one track isn't drawn. If I add the file back again, the wave shows up but the track under it only plays the first clip over and over and never plays the other clips. If I press space-bar to play, it jumps to measure 98 (where there is nothing) and starts playing the song. Very, very, strange corruption which may have been caused by me moving a file after recording that wound up in the wrong folder for some reason but I can't recreate it in a new project. I finally recovered it from the backup projects so there are still some gremlins left to be found.
