Can Sound Forge envoke the Windows Media Lossless encoder. I routinely use it from Media Player. I have a bunch of wav files that I wanted to encode in that format using Sound Forge Batch.

Is there something I need to download?

thanks

I am trying to encode wav files to wma lossless.
Sound Forge 10a, Windows Media 11.
The lossless codec does not show up in the list.
It seems crazy that MSFT would not promote the codec and make it easy to create more content for their platform.
Is there something I can do so that the wma lossless codec shows up in the format list of wma formats?

thanks

It is there.

Click "Custom' and switch Mode to 'Quality VBR'. Then 'Format' gives the option "WMA 9.2 Lossless'.

Seeming available from any template, which is presumably then ignored.

Yep, well hidden :-)

Yes. Should be a 'major' preset.

Though I guess most that are MP3ing or WMAing don't want lossless - they want smaller....
