I am new to the forums and my searches didn't really answer my question. I am hoping to do the following during a live show. 1. Open a song in ACID that has been saved with a looped region. 2. Trigger the start of the song from an external midi device (drum pad) 3. Trigger the stop of the song from the same external midi device. Basically, I was hoping to have the drummer start/stop ACID playback of a song (that has a sectioned looped). I know there is a ton of other gear & Albeton out there but we are trying to make use of what we already own. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks. |

Options > Preferences > External Control & Automation. Add a generic controller (unless you have a Mackie or Tranzport). Double-click the new device. Under, "View function group," choose, "Transport." Double-click a desired host command, like "Transport.Play," and click "Learn" in the upper right. Press (or hit, in your case), the desired control. Click OK. Repeat for the other functions you'd like to assign. Click OK on your way out of this dialog. Go to Options > External Control. (You can tell an external controller is enabled by a colored horizontal bar on the Master bus in the Mixer.) Test out your new control by pressing the desired control on your controller. Note that your project should be open and ready when you go to do this live. Also be sure that your MIDI (drum) controller is set up properly as well for ACID to recognize its input (via Options > Preferences > MIDI).
