Subject:Acid 7 - Record Loops?

Hello, anyway to get Acid 7.0c to record directly to a loop rather than Beatmapped or One Shot? If not, does anyone have tips for the most efficient workflow to end up with a loop. If it helps I have Sound Forge 8 and 10a.

Thanks,

Kit

Anything that's not already ACIDized that's between half a second and 30 seconds is treated as a Loop (by default, as indicated under Options > Preferences > Audio). Sooo...if you're bionic, you can hopefully stop the recording between these times for that to happen. :D

To be more serious, you're better off recording raw takes and taking that material to ACIDize as a Loop. As an example of my workflow at its most basic:

-Record my material into a track, taking as long as I want. By default, ACID will treat any material longer than 30 seconds as a Beatmapped track but that's OK since I intended to record into that tempo anyhoo. It won't matter in the end.

-Solo the track and set the Loop Region over the area I want to keep and press Ctrl + M, which will create a new track with this media. (Note how I said earlier anything that's between half a second and 30 seconds gets treated as a Loop; it applies here too).

That's basically it. The project's overall key (if applicable) and tempo will be applied to the newly-rendered track.

Now, it can get more complicated, as I can have several tracks mixed together and bounced down (or rendered) onto a new track. I could (do?) use Sound Forge's tools to help sweeten/fix the new track. I could go on but this will hopefully give you ideas on just how powerful ACID can be.

Thanks, Iacobus, that was the setting I was missing. Ctrl + M does seem to be the easier route. Is bouncing down the same as rendering to a new track or are they different techniques? Thanks again,

Kit

Kit, specifically what are you trying to record that you want to loop it?

"Bouncing down" and rendering to a new track are synonymous. :)
