Hi,

I have permanent problem with VSTs which are not able to recall choosen presets and patches after rebooting comp or just after close/open application. I'm using Acid Music Studio (newest built) on Vista 64 Ultimate.

I have red some recent and more recent topic on this subject but acctually can't find remedy.

This is a list of plugins which permanently start with first patch from patch list (it doesn't matter that first event on track is "program change keyframe") :

- Richman2 from Krakli
- S3K from Krakli
- GTG K1.3 from GTH Synths
- Arracis Gold from HG Fortune
- DSK mini Drum MZ2 from DSK Music
- Intro from Boris Korolev.

To configure track properly I have to open VST and set up patch manually. Is there solution of this problem ? or meybe I'm doing something wrong in workflow ?

I take it that you've saved the ACID project with these associated VSTs and their settings? Not sure what's going there (as I don't use ACID Music Studio); I use ACID Pro 7 and whatever I have for VSTs and their settings is saved when I save the project, close and reopen.

Hi mD,

Yes, I saved project, settings and selected patch (insert program change key frame on the beginning of track). But after close and reopen, listed VSTs are always set up to use first patch from their preset list. I have red some topic on this forum that other people had the same problem (doesn't matter ACID or AMS) with VST (especially free VSTs but also with Absynth).

Of course there is a lot of VSTs which are able to work properly with AMS but I regret to deinstall my favourites.

When I have Massive loaded into Acid Pro 7 it always loads the preset backup exactly how I left it but none of the rest of my VST's do this...

I have the same issue with VST's I download. primarily the DSK plug ins.
the settings for VST's like Massive, the Sonivox VSts always save within the project.

I think it has to do with certain VST's .

My quick work around is this-
what you have to do is after you modify/create a certain sound, give it a name and save it in the VST's presets, give it a name.

In Acid, just rename the track to the VST plug in and preset/name youve used. just as reference. (note:always name your tracks in any DAW that you use)

youll always have to assign the VST but the settings/mods will be saved. in the preset that youve used.

I'm trying to copy with this issue by saving presets and some notes in track title (there is no, like in Vegas, notepad plug in) but I can feel confusing. Lookking on importance of VSTs in ASM I can tell that this is a first class imperative to make order with that. It's strange that there is a standard of MIDI comunication and problems are present from the begining of ACID up till now.

I can understand that specific VST plugin want to start with his own preferences. But FIRST EVENT ON THE TIMELINE IS PROGRAM CHANGE KEYFREME - how it is possible that this command isn't succesfull ? Meybe I should add something ? Anybody knows ?

I have tried the Krakli plugs. The 'presets' are not controllable as patch maps. Some plug-ins just don't do this right.

They also don't seem to want to reload the last saved patch. I don't know why.

GTG k1.3 works fine for me.

Arracis Gold works fine for me.

I have not installed the remainder, so I don't know if they work or not.

Hi Peter,

Maybe it is connected with MIDI Input config ? I usually use config like this :

- ON auto input
- OFF input off
- ALL midi channel
- ON send midi input thru to midi output.

Is this config valid (or important) ? I have not any external midi devices : just the simplest midi keyboard controller connected via USB (latest AMS, Vista 64 Ultimate).
