Subject:Blank Vendor in Soft Synth Chooser causing issue

I've "chronicled" this issue before (on here) and thought I had a work-around, but my work-around isn't working anymore http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?Forum=1&MessageID=647795 Question... why is ACID looking at the Vendor Name to tell me whether or not the VST is available? What is happening is that prior projects that I created (before restaging my workstation) are (for whatever reason) seemingly looking at the vendor name for the VST, but since it is blank (See screenshot.jpg below), it is throwing me an error (screenshot2.jpg). However, if I create a new project, the VST is accessible just fine. Is there a way that I can manually set the vendor name? Where is this information being kept at? http://www.therealmoody.com/screenshot.jpg http://www.therealmoody.com/screenshot2.jpg Message last edited on11/19/2009 6:48:23 AM byStephenM. |

Dang, it has nothing to do with the blank vendor. I just dragged the VST (in the plug-in manager) to the vendor name (I had another plugin from NI) and it populated the vendor name for that VST. It is something else that ACID isn't seeing. Again, when a VST is registered in ACID, where does that info go? The registry? A database? I never had this issue in v6, so obviously AP7 is doing something differently? Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated! :) Message last edited on11/19/2009 6:54:04 AM byStephenM. |

Okay, I solved it! I found the XML file that contains the plugincache. I deleted out entry for my plugin, then I did a rescan. That worked. |

I believe (in Vista) it's in Users > [username] > AppData > Local > Sony > ACID Pro > 7.0. Iacobus |
