Simple: NR is not meant to be a realtime plugin. ACID 2 and Noisre reduction plug are just not meant for each other. Same for ACID 3. NR is for use in tools like Sound Forge. It is a desctructive process to do NR. Peter |

What? NR not a real time plug in? NR IS A REAL TIME PLUG IN. I have been using 1.0 for almost 2 years now and in nothing but real time. I use it with Wavelab as a direct x plug in. I would be shocked if SF made NR not a real time plug in with version 2.0 You must be doing something wrong or they really changed NR 2.0. -john pemble |

By "Not a real-time plug-in", that doesn't mean that it can't be used in real-time, for previewing a whole file DirectX-style, but rather that Noise Reduction is something that most users are going to do outside of the mixing process, while preparing their audio in an editor like Sound Forge. Otherwise, you end up eating up a large chunk of your CPU cycles doing noise-reduction when you could use it for playing back more tracks, or adding more effects, or running at a higher bit-depth or sample rate. In short, NR can be used in real-time while mixing, but not a lot of people do. |

NR was not meant to be used as a real time plug in. It will run realtime, but it is expensive. Noise reduction is really an offline process. I know that many use it for realtime processing, but it will use a lot of CPU to do its job. Use it how you feel you need to. Just be aware of its side effects. Peter |
