If you use the Wave Hammer to raise the power levels for voice (as an example), how do you fine tune the settings to target the RMS level you are shooting for, i.e. -12 db for voice? Mark |

Wave Hammer is an effect, not a preprocess tool. As such, it does not prescan your audio to set a target output level, it only applies what you tell it to. What you want to do is accomplished with the Normalize tool in RMS mode. It is not necessary to cross-post in these forums. Message last edited on11/8/2009 9:38:54 AM bymusicvid10. |

Wave Hammer seems more exacting than using Normalize. With Normalize you can't fine tune compression. It would be nice if Wave Hammer had the same RMS intelligence as Normalize so that RMS targets could be identifed prior to processing. In other words, with Wave Hammer you can't define your target RMS levels, and with Normalize you can't define your compression parameters. I cross post in the Vegas and Sound Forge forums because I use both products, and the audiences in both forums, although overlapping, are not mutually inclusive. And, interestingly, the best responses with regard to audio typically come from the Vegas forum, not the Sound Forge forum. Message last edited on11/8/2009 2:26:29 PM by1marcus4. |
