Subject:Saving on the fly stops playback

Using AP6 - Starting today I cannot click save while a project is playing back without playback stopping. For years I've been seamlessly saving "on the fly" but today when I now click save during playback, playback stops returning to where the cursor was (like hitting the space bar). Previously I could click save while playing and the project would continue playing which really increases my workflow efficiency.

I've installed a couple of new plugins recently but have not used them in AP6. Does anyone have any idea or know what's up with this behavior? I imagine its something simple but I can't figure it out.

Thanks!

i had this happen. you probably saved a project using the Save As command, and then activated the checkmark for "Copy all media with project".

solution: go to the Save As dialog again, uncheck the checkmark, save the project. now you can do a regular Save again without it stopping playback.

Yes! That is exactly what happened! I imported some media from an external drive and wanted to keep it with the project files so I copied the media. I forgot I had done that and thanks for the insight. Actually today after I booted the system to continue working on the project, the save on the fly was back to normal. I just figured it was some weird thing that fixed itself in the reboot, but I'll certainly remember the "save as" thing in the future. Thanks again.
