Subject:Average RMS Values Different Between Versions

When running process\normalization\scan to identify the average RMS values on three mp4/aac video files I have, SFv9 returned -18.7, -16.2, and -15.8. SFv10A returned -20.9, -21.2, and -19.2 for the same files.

A problem? Or reasonable explanation I'm not aware of?

Sound Forge 9.0 provided mp4 support via QuickTime authoring components (and was recently broken by the latest QuickTime update, fix here).

Sound Forge 10.0 supports mp4 directly via the Fraunhofer AAC codec (and was not affected by the aforementioned issue).

As I am not privy to the internal workings of either component, I can offer no guidance as to which is more accurate.

Thank you for the reply.

Is this how the fix was applied in Vegas 9.0c? And would this new dll possibly fix the mp4 issue in 8.0c as well?

Thank you

Mark
