Subject:How to burn multiple tracks from a WAV so there's no interruption as the CD player switches tracks

I have a CD worth of music that's recorded containing 10 separate songs.
However, there is no silence between any of them - the songs change, but there is
always trailing music from the previous song when the next track begins. I tried
cutting and pasting the songs out of the single large WAV that comprises the CD, and
saving them as separate WAVs, but when I play them in the CD player, there
is always a gap of a couple of seconds while the CD player switches between the tracks.

This has to be a common goal for people, especially if you're dealing with classical music that
flows from one movement to the next without a break, but the CD player still recognizes the different
tracks, and just switches from track to track without any interruption to the music.

How can I accomplish this?

I see someone has had a similar issue and recommended Wavelab by Steinberg.
It this really not possible to accomplish exclusively through SoundForge? Does anyone
have any experience with Wavelab?

You can't do it with Sound Forge alone. You need a CD
mastering program like the now defunct CD Architect, NERO,
or other program designed for making audio CD's. The
mastering program should let you remove the standard 2
second gap between songs while maintaing the the ability to
mark each section as a new song for indexing. I have burned
many live concerts to disc using CD-A, so I know that it
can be done.

Sound Forge's built in CD burning is Track At Once (TAO)
which only writes one track to disc at a time. This
automatically causes a two second gap to be placed between
tracks with no ability to remove it. What you want to do is
burn the entire disc at once, which is referred to as - you
guessed it - Disc At Once (DAO) burning. The exact method
will vary from software to software, but each one should
allow you to load up the individual tracks in the order you
choose and place them back to back on the time line with no
spacing. Once everything is like you want it, the program
will then write the whole disc without stopping. This will
give you a continuous audio CD that still retains the
ability to move from index point to index point within the
disc.

I own both Wavelab and Soundforge. I Sound Forge mainly
for wave editing and Wavelab for CD burning. You can edit
the length of pauses between tracks with Wavelab. Know,
though, that Wavelab does only "Disk at Once" CD burning
which seems to be the preferred method for CD burning
including formatting pauses between tracks.

Thanks for the info.
I've been cutting parts of the WAV and saving them as
separate WAVs and then
burning them to disk with EZ CD creator using disk-at-once
and it works -
except there's always a quiet static 'pop' as it switches
from track to track. I was hoping to avoid this, but I
think someone else mentioned this issue in another post.
