Subject:Help files gone!

I'm posting this here because I know J. (ForumAdmin) is more likely to see it than in the Vegas forum.

I have Sound Forge Pro 7, Vegas Pro 8.0c, and DVDA Pro 5 installed on my laptop.
I recently installed the trial version of Movie Studio Platinum 9 so I could get a feel for the rendering template differences between that and Vegas Pro.

I discovered that all the Help programs in all three professional versions had stopped working. No response. Nada.

I was able to restore the Help functions by doing a Repair Install of all three programs.
I know from past experience to back up the Shared Plug-Ins folder every time I install or remove a trial version. Are there help files and other folders I should be backing up too? Any light that can be shed on this will be appreciated.

Can't help but here to say the EXACT same thing just happened to me. For the life of me I don't know why the links are broken. The help files are there but the core program is not picking them up.

Forgot to ask. How to I re-establish the links? There is no repair option using the Control Panel. Just re-install over existing?

Use the .msi file in your Sony Setup folder.

That will work for Vegas and DVDA. But Sound Forge Pro v10 doesn't leave a Sony setup folder.
