Subject:Unwanted Echo on input monitor

I'm trying to monitor my input Mic while recording. I have no effects sellected for the track and I am getting a three tap echo. What the heck is this? I'm using a Gina 3g sound card with Asio drivers and windows Vista .

It's not the metronome countoff is it? I think it's the last button on the right, above the play/stop etc buttons.

No my vocals are echoing. My machine has the required hardware, so I just dont get it. Anyone from Sony care to answer?

Please fill out your system specs in your user profile and make sure to mark them as visible.

Can you describe exactly how your project is set up for recording? Are your using track level monitoring?
Are you using Input Busses?
Do you have the Gina set up to monitor directly an input to output?
