One thing I miss from my RME Multiface is the Digicheck application which provided excellent metering and frequency display. I haven't been able to find a way to get an RMS metering display in Sound Forge. Did I just miss something? If not, isn't this a useful thing for the Sound Forge guys to implement? If you don't know -- an RMS meter displays a rolling average of signal strength. It corresponds closely to the loudness perceived by human ears. The name stands for 'Root Mean Square' and it's a standard statistical technique -- see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Root_mean_square |

There are several VU/PPM options available in both the Channel Meters and Hardware Meters. You can access them from the Options menu or via the meters' context menus. You can adjust the default 0 VU level and integration time in Options->Preferences->Status. J. Message last edited on10/14/2009 11:41:28 AM byForumAdmin. |
