Anyone know where I can find or create turntable-type effects i.e. a turntable slowly losing power, winding up, quick stop, quick start, etc? I thought this could be done using the pitch bend effect, but I can't seem to get it to sound legitimate. Can someone help me on this one? Thanks.

Try this

Menu: Effects|Pitch|Bend...
Use Range slider to increase Range
You can 'draw' your own havoc....
- Delete nodes by Right Clicking
- Add nodes by DoubleClick on line
- Reset nodes by DoubleClick on node

The problem with Pitch Bend is that it won't go all the way down to a stop. It only goes down 24 semitones, which is 1/4 speed. What i do is run the effect 2 or 3 times on a very brief section of the audio, then add a short fade to cover the fact that it's not actually a stop or start.

There's also a free VST plugin called "Scratchdown" by SynthEdit - Google for that..... works in SF9 and FS10.

It makes Stops, but not Starts ...... & be aware it occasionally crashes some host applications!

A stop may be good enough. Reverse the clip, add a stop at the "end", and un-reverse it. The stop should now be backwards at the beginning and may sound like a start.

You can do this kind of thing using a free VST plugin called Tapestop.

I know I'm really late responding to this, but -- it's too bad Sony couldn't create some more built-in system presets which would emulate this type of slowing down and speeding up.

How about it, Sony?

download the demo of FL Studio. It has FL Scratcher and Wave Traveller. Wave traveller is the best at this. you can't save the editting it unless you buy the program. But you can render all your work to wave without having to buy anything.

That's great, but I wish there was something in Sound Forge that would do this.
