Subject:Tine Stretch creates noise in selection

Anyone experiencing a noise at the end of a selection when using Time Stretch or Elastique on a selected portion of a sound file? I've been experiencing this problem since SF9 and now in both time stretch features of SFP 10.

Don't understand what you mean by end of a selection.
A period of time, or right at the cut? Can you upload an example? What kind of noise?

Cuts should always be made at zero crossing points to avoid clicks and pops.
Time stretch always introduces some quantization noise. Is this what you're hearing?

For time-compressing effects, you'll want to zero out the default Fade In and Fade Out values in the "More" section of the dialog. If you want the default to be zero, you can change it in Options->Preferences->Editing->Default FX crossfade settings.

You may also want to explicitly select Insert Tail in the dialog's context menu (right click on the blank area under OK/Cancel, etc.), but that shouldn't make any difference in this case.

J., thanks for the info. I cut the Default FX crossfade setting to "0" and no more noise. I wish I would have asked this question a few years ago.

To clarify. I was referring to voice segments selected inside a larger recording whereas selected areas would start and end at zero db. But, it seems that since the default cross fade was set to something other than zero it would introduce the artifact at the end of the selected audio once the Time Stretch process was completed.
