Subject:ACID 7.0 Not recording correctly after Vista Upgra

Hello,

I recently upgraded from XP Pro 32 Bit to Vista Ultimate 32 Bit. Ever since then, Acid Pro 7.0c does not seem to record correctly with the Windows Classic Wave Driver. I am just playing a Korg Triton into an ART USB connector, using no special plug ins, gear, etc.

I tried a new project today, with just the metronome as the beat. One out of every 5 times the program would draw the waveform for the recorded track correctly. All the other times it would either...

1. Not draw at all
2. Draw a small white box followed by nothing,
3. Would eventually draw a waveform, but it would be a few seconds into the song and well behind the cursor. On playback, it would be out of sync, only capture a portion of what I played, and then play it back with choppy sound.

The following steps were tried, with no difference in performance:

A. Uninstalled/reinstalled but that did not help.
B. Uninstalled/reinstalled via the "clean install" steps per the Sony site
C. Changed recording device to Microsoft Sound Mapper
D. Turned off Norton AntiVirus 2010
E. Restarted the computer with MS Config to shut off all background apps

Existing Acid projects play just fine.

Vegas Pro 8.0 by comparison seems to work fine.

System specs are:
Alienware PC
Pentium 4 3.8 GHz processor w/ hyper threading
4 GB Ram
Windows Vista Ultimate
Main sound card: Soundblaster Audigy 2Z (used for playback)
Presonus Firepod (recording only)
Art USB Phono Plus (recording only)

Any ideas how to fix this? I can't record anything for the time being.

Thanks.
