Subject:Yamaha 4260 Burner Not Recognised by Sound Forge 5

I have just bought Sound Forge 5, but it doesn't recognise my SCSI Yamaha 4260 CD writer. I'm using Windows 2000 Professional on an Athlon 700 machine with 196MB of RAM. Sound Forge can see my Emu E-Synth and send and recieve samples via SCSI, so the problem is with recognising the CD writer rather than with SCSI. Has anyone had similar experiences with the Yamaha? Will this problem be fixed in a future update? Jim. |

i am assuming you have a via chipset. windows 2k has trouble reconizing IDE and scuzzy devices when ultra buss mastering is enabled (patch 4.28a). they otherwise work fine but show up wrong in the device manager (ide as scussy and such). i have the same problem with both of my drives in that it wont see the burnner as a burnner at all and will see both of them in the RIP box you get when you want to extract but will not show any information. i e-mailed tech support about this but just getting tumbleweeds in my mail box i don't know if my first statement applies to you but i feel your pain on the second one |
