Subject:SF 10 Event-based Editing Tool is Pure Genius!!!

IMHO, this is the single greatest feature to be added to Sound Forge since version 4.5 when I started using it. I mostly use Vegas for audio editing because SF did not have the ability to work at an event level. Quite often I am replacing audio with room tone to eliminate unwanted noises and in SF I felt like I was editing blind. Once you pasted it was committed with no chance of trimming or changing (except undo).

I clicked on the Event Tool in SF10 and my jaw dropped to the keyboard as I witnessed every edit that I had made up to that point instantly become an event that I could move around and trim to my hearts content. I believe that this one feature will increase my usage of Sound Forge over Vegas 1000% for audio editing.

If you haven't clicked on the Event Tool button yet, place small wash cloth over your computer keyboard to collect the drool, press that icon, and prepare to be amazed! ;-)

Kodo's to the SF dev team... you ROCK!!!

Curious. Had you used CDA (cd architect) before? The event editing tool in v10 is basically an absorption of CDA into SF. It's nice, but doesn't have all of the features of CDA that I use consistently... or perhaps I haven't found them yet.

zogo:
In case you haven't noticed, CDA is included with SF10 as a separate install with it's own serial number so your not losing CDA at all or any of it's functionality. You still have access to all the tools that are/were in CDA from before. So you get the new event based editing in SF10 along with the original tool in CDA.
