Hi all, I know that most of you are talking SF5, but I just bought it and not knowing that the batch converter doeas not work yet so I am back to 4.5 for now... But I have a problem and I never get a response from tech support via email. Mine came with a sheet with the serial number for the MP3 plug in, but when I use it I am told that the number has expired.. Yet it is supposed to be free and unlimited... Known bug? Stephen |

Hi, you have to use the old key (or reg-file) with the old(SF4) mp3 plug-in, it is completely different from the mp3 plugin that comes with SF5. There's no extra key or reg-file for the new SF5 mp3-plugin it is part of the SF5. |

That is what my problem is with... I removed SF5 because it is useless to me without batch conversion and SF4.5 is useless because the code for the unlimited use mp3 plug in gives me the expired message... I have Emailed tech support 3 time since January and they never respond even though I am supposed to have 90 days free technical support from first contact.... Anybody ever get them to respond? |

yep,i see, that has been a problem for me too, the first time after i installed the public preview of SF5 and the second time after i installed the Gold Version. Messed up plug-in entries for the new plug-ins and problems with the old/new mp3-plug-in. What i've learned from it, you have to un-install SF5 first, then you must uninstall SF4.5, plus all plug-ins, like Noise-Reduction,CDA and the MP3-Plugin(it is a separate entry under Start/Control/Software). After this, remove all folder from your drives starting with Sonic Foundry or Sound Forge. You may also want to delete the entry for Sonic Foundry from the Registry HKEY_Local_Machine\Software. Reboot and re-install SF4.5 which will re-install the old mp3-plugin. It should work now fine with your code or reg-file. |
