Ive never had this issue before. Yesterday I uninstalled Vegas and Installed 9.0B and now when i bring an AVI file to the timeline I have no audio.

Video: 00:03:49.262, 29.970 fps, 1280x720x24, ffdshow Video Codec
Audio: 00:00:00.000, 160 kBit/s, 44,100 Hz, Stereo, MPEG Layer-3

Ive tried multiple Files that were working fine before I uninstalled and reinstalled. I redownloaded the K-lite codec pack and nothing I do seems to work.

If anyone could help id appreciate it very much

The file plays fine outside of Vegas - Windows media player will play them fine and as I stated before - yesterday before the uninstall Vegas was playing these files

This looks as though Vegas can see that there is an audio stream there, but thinks it is zero seconds long, i.e. there is no audio data in the stream. So although it is playing it you will hear nothing, since Vegas thinks it's just an empty stream.

Where did this avi come from, and in particular how was the audio included in it? If you can, try recreating the audio stream using a different format and see if that works OK in Vegas.

try AVIDemux, if this program does not help You, then You'll need new file :D
but why You have 44,100 Hz, Stereo, MPEG Layer-3 audio? it's not standard.. maybe thats why...

and use VistaCodec Pack, it's more helping, than any others...
