Can anyone please give me some light I am in the dark on this and I am wondering how to devises this... on sound forge 4.5 or 5.0 can you remove vocals if it is at all possible. Thank you in advance Kevin |

This is not possible with any software package. Some of them try to do it, but there is none that can do it effectively. The technology just does not exist. Ted |

Impossible. You may be able to filter out some of the vocals to some limited extent, but you'll also be filtering out everything else in the same frequency range. The only way this could be done is to acquire the original multitrack master tape or disc. Each voice, instrument, etc is recorded on a separate channel or track. They are then all mixed down to left and right channels. Everything is blended together. Only the master multitrack media would have each track separated. If you are looking for instrumental versions of songs, there are sources for those (such as Karoake - spelling?) but I don't have any addresses off the top of my head. As for prices on such things, I have no idea. |

You can also try the "Vocal Remover" from AnalogX (a free DirectX effect): http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/audio/vremover.htm Doesn't work perfect, but it's worth a shot. Nick LaMartina |
