First off music and sound is something I flat out do
not "get". The file formats truly mean nothing to me. :(
I have a sound file I need to attach to my Macromedia
Director movie that I am doing. The problem is the file is
way too big to use (6.6 megs)...What I need to know is:
what is the best format to use for presentation quality
sound and what steps do I need to do to convert my current
file to the preferred one? The file is currently saved as
a File Type: wav Attributes: 44,100 4 bit stereo Format:
ADPCM. Thanks in advise for any help you can provide...: )

The question here is: what formats will Director accept? I
think Director is limited to certain file types, but I am
not sure which ones. I would say mp3 is probably going to
be smallest, but you will need to check with Macromedia to
find out if that format is compatible. To change from one
format to another, do this:

-Load the file into Sound Forge.

-Go to File/Save As

-Select the desired format in the "Save As Type" field and
select the desired destination in the "Save In" field.
