Hi guys, i want to know if Sound forge 10 will allow me to records Music, meaning having my beat play while i am singing. To be more specific I want to know if it will allow me to records my song, which will include the sound and my voice. Thanks for the help. i want to buy it but i am not sure if i will be able to record my songs, it looks like it is only for editing audio and will allow you to record your voice only. |

SF is more of a multi-channel editing and mastering application. You would want a multi-track application which allows "over-dubbing". ( if I may use the antiquated term) Sony's Vegas or Acid would be more suited to what you want. Other third-party multi-track software would include: Pro-Tools, Sonar, Audition, Reaper and Audacity (the later two are free-ware for personal use) |

If you are doing purely accoustic recordings then Vegas might be a better choice. It's more like a tape recorder than ACID is. Best thing to do is download demos of both and try them out before spending the money. |

All depends on your music. If you will be using loops or midi, Acid is your choice in the Sony line. Vegas has a high-powered multitrack audio editor built in, but doesn't support midi. Message last edited on9/6/2009 7:15:51 AM bymusicvid10. |

The OP mentioned singing over his beats, so Acid will probably suit him. |
