I KNOW I will be visiting this site almost constantly and hope you all will be patient with my questions. Here's the first one, which is why I bought SF 5.0: I want to be able to separate old 78's into individual tracks such as VOICE, TRUMPET, DRUMS, ETC. Is it possible with SF 5. or with other features of SF? And the last for today: can I separate into individual tracks my own MP3 or Real Audio songs so I can edit each track further than what is now there? Thanks |

Unfortunately this is not possible with any software package on the market today. The technology to do this effectively does not exist. Ted |

The only way you could possibly do this is to acquire the original multitrack master tape (no way, Jose!). Each voice, instrument, whatever that was originally recorded in the studio is recorded on individual tracks (channels). The tape we're talking about most likely is 2" wide. The equipment to play this back is high dollar. You would need a mixing console that can handle the number of tracks on the tape. More big bucks. In short, its impossible. |
