I would think it would be redundant if they have the same features.
I'm sure you could still use CDA if you prefer.

A close look at the SF10 features *suggests* that CDA has finished its run. Although I love CDA, it has some serious limitations, especially not being able to use VST efx. I personally would welcome having CD mastering/burning fully integrated into SF but I never really got the hang of SF9 so I simply continued using SF8 which I am very familiar with and its very stable for me. Upgrading to 10 is really going to present a serious learning curve I'm afraid.

No, but you can fake it pretty easily with a four-channel file (where channels 3 and 4 are routed to the same outputs as 1 and 2). You just have to channel-convert back to stereo prior to burning...

Forge 10.0 includes many features found in CDA, but is not a wholesale replacement. We may address some of these differences in future versions as long as they align reasonably with Forge's file-editing paradigm.

CD Architect 5.2 has not been updated, but is included on the Forge 10.0 install disk and remains available for new Forge 10.0 users or upgraders who don't have it.

If CDA has serious limitations, the SF has equally serious different ones ! I have no intention of giving up on CDA .

Even though it's still included, it appears I can no longer export to it, is this correct?

It does appear as if track and CD metadata covers most of the CD Text; and it appears I can set the gap or have it gapless. For most of my use, at first glance, it does seem that I can do what w/SF all I used CDA for.

But, I'll confess I've been wishing for more burning support for CDA - such as the number of discs to burn and multiple burner support. Without export from SF, CDA does seem somewhat less useful - or harder to use, anyway.

Will the extra metadata in the wave file adversely affect other program's use of the wave files?

Just less convenient - you need to save it from SF and load it to CDA.

Can imagine why they did this, cos SF even with the new functionality, is not a replacement for CDA And it's was surely more effort to remove it than to simply leave alone....
