Subject:SF10 - missing keyboard-shortcut for regions?

For my work (doing post-pro for voiceover-recordings for games), I need to create large amounts of regions within long WAV-files. This worked like a charm in older versions: Make a selection, press "R", type in the name of the region, press Enter and you're done. However, it seems that it is no longer possible to create a region and name it just with the use of keyboard-shortcuts. Am I missing something or is it really impossible to open a "name-that-new-region"-dialog with the keyboard? Any ideas are welcome! :) Thx Gerald |

Navigate to Options->Preferences->General and enable "Automatically name regions and markers if not playing". There's no dialog anymore, but this will enable the name field directly on the marker/region ruler when you hit 'R'. So it is the same workflow. Technically, it works even if you are playing, but you'd want to disable Options->Seek Cursor on Playback in order to make selections independent of play position. You may also find it convenient to have the Regions List metadata window open (View->Metadata->Regions List). J. Message last edited on9/3/2009 7:43:33 AM byForumAdmin. |

Thanks a lot for your answer - this does the trick! :) Will dig a little deeper into the new version within the next days, but as far as I can see now, it's a great update ... lots of interesting new stuff to explore ... :) Cheers Gerald |
