Subject:color changing question for selected data

hi,

in SF7 i used to be able to set different colors for selected background as well as selected data. in SF10 it appears there only is a setting for the background. i can change the data color for the entire file, but not for just the selected part.

is it possible to change the color of selected wave data in SF10?

We moved to an alpha-blending approach in 9.0 which precluded this kind of explicit setting.

You can achieve this to some degree by varying the saturation/brightness of the 'selection' setting and brightness of the 'data brightness' setting, but don't know if this meets your needs.

If you can describe your workflow/need with this it will help us to review the newer approach in the future.

i experimented with the saturation/brightness settings as suggested, but that doesn't really work for me. there is not enough discernible difference between the normal wave data and the selected wave data.

the reason i used to set this up in SF7 is because it offered a visual aid for precise loop selecting. for instance, i had regular wave data colored blue on a white background, selected data is yellow on a black background.

i admit it's really just a secondary assist since i do it mostly by ear anyway. so in that regard i wouldn't consider it a pressing issue that must be fixed immediately. but it would be very nice if this feature somehow found its way back in a future update of SF10. :)

cheers.
