I bought the boxed version of SF5 thinking I would get a printed manual. BUT, Sonic Foundry wants to sell a
printed manual for another $30. Can you believe this? For $66 (including shipping) above the downloaded
version of SF5 you get a box, a CDROM and a 52 page install manual. Thanks Sonic Foundry for the rip off.

I've been using SF since version version 3. It's a good product BUT.....

The registration process that Sonic Foundry uses is horrible. I own several computers which I configure and
use as various projects demand. If SF used dongles as most good software does, life would be much
better.
But, a dongle would cost Sonic Foundry a whole $4 each. I do understand the need to control piracy.

THERE ARE BETTER WAYS SONIC FOUNDRY, listen to your customers!

I also own Vegas Pro, which I've quit using. I will be moving SF to the back shelf because I hate their petty
administration. They are ruining a very good product by imposing such restrictions upon us that it is not
worth
the hassle. I'll be using SF4 mostly since I can move it from job to job as I deem necessary.

You are incorrect about the manual. We do not offer a
printed manual at all, so I am not sure why you say we are
charging an additional $30.00 for one. You may have
mistaken the Sound Forge Power book for a manual. Sound
Forge Power is linked on our site, but is not published by
or affiliated with Sonic Foundry.

The full manual is on the CD-ROM as a PDF (Adobe Acrobat)
file. You can print the full manual out from the PDF file,
but be aware that its a very large file (hundreds of pages).
