Subject:How can I remove effects of excessive limiter?

I am cleaning up an audio recording that was made with a hand held recorder. Unfortunately the limiter was enabled and it is way too aggressive. It cuts in often and takes the signal down almost to nothing then lets it rise over a period of a half second or so. Wave Hammer helps but does not eliminate the pops/dropouts that result. Is there any way I can reduce this? Thanks. |

Reminds me of the cheap AGC circuits from the early suitcase sized VHS & 3/4" decks... Fast attack >Slooooooooooooooooow release. Sorry Cheryl, there ain't much you can do then what you've done already. |
