Subject:Recording Levels Don't Clip in 5.0

I do alot of recording from DAT to my computer for burning pre-signed music to CD. I rely heavily on the recording meters in Sound Forge. In 4.5h, when the signal was too high, I used to get "CLIP" messages in red. Now with SF 5.0, it doesn't clip. I have both 4.5 and 5.0 installed, and 4.5 still clips and 5.0 doesn't. How can I get this feature to work again. Thanks :-) |

If the source is a DAT and the transfer is digital, then no clipping should be occuring anyway. The digital source simply cannot exceed the 0db threshold... clipping would only occur if it exceeded the 0db mark. Even if the original DAT was recorded too hot and clipping occured, the resulting recording would just have flattened peaks, but won't "clip" on playback, per se. -S |

The only problem is that occasionally, I still transfer in Analog. I am really concerned about the clipping when transferring a file using via Analog. |

This is a known issue and will be fixed in version 5.0a, which is scheduled to be released shortly. Ted |
