I'm relatively new to the computer-based audio recording stuff. Currently working on our fourth album which happens to be the first one on my computer-based recording set-up. In the past, we mixed down to DAT as the master to be used for the duplication process. Can people please comment on mixing down to CD as the master!?!? I have a HP CD-Writer 8200 series CD-R. Everything seems to sound fine when I do rough mixes using this USB-based CD recorder. Would this device work well in making the "Master CD" to be used for the duplication process??? FYI, I actually do not do the final mix-down for our projects. We hire someone to do this process. He'll be working in my humble recording studio (it has successfully produced three albums for our small company). Thank you in advance. . .
