If you send a mono audio feed from reason into acid via a softsynth bus, acid will convert this into stereo. This means that if you then put a mono plugin on that bus, the input volume will be 6db louder than normal and the input will distort.

This could be solved by having a mono/stereo button on all mixer buses, most other daws have this.
