Subject:.wav to .cda ?

Thank-you K, However, you may have misunderstood the question I posed. I want to convert my song from a mixed wav to a .cda file. If I simply use Nero or Easy CD -Creator to copy the wav file to a cd, the burned CD still contains .wav files. I want to be able to play my music from a regular audio cd-player ( ie: car or home stereo) , not through a computer CD-Rom player. I went back through the previous posts on your site and read somewhere that ACID version 2.0 contains some kind of automatic burning feature but does it convert the mixed wav files to .cda files? If it does I'll just upgrade. If not... I don't know what to do. There has to be a way. All audio CD's contain .wav files. The file type displayed by Windows is .cda which stands for CD Audio. But this is misleading, because .cda is NOT a real file type. I guarantee if you burn your .wav's to CD you will be able to play them in your car or portable CD player. Just be sure you are burning an AUDIO CD and not a DATA CD and that you are burning all the tracks at once (DAO = disc at once). I do it all the time, although I never put a disc back into the CD Rom to see if says the .wav's are .cda's or not. I'll have to check that out. Thank-you. I didn't use the disk at once option when i tried it before, i gues that was the problem. You've been a big help Pete Alien Farms wrote: >>All audio CD's contain .wav files. I have NERO to burn CDs. I followed your instructions to save the Acid file as a multiple Wave File .WAV then burn all tracks to the CD. The file shows up in explorer as a .CDA and plays just fine on my CDROM but is not recognized by my home stereo or my recording studio CD equipment. I have a project for the United Way that I composed an Acid loop for and need to distibute it to the video team on CD. HELP! I have got to get the song of my computer into some other portable media. Thanks. |
