I have Sound Forge 4.5h. Prior to the news release of version 5.0, I purchased XFX 1,2,3 and Acoustic Mirror plug- ins. With this in mind, is there any significant changes/improvements in Sound Forge 5.0 that would make me want to upgrade??? Thanks is advance. Ted Fiebke |

You ask a very sensitive question for this forum. Let me give you just a quick list of key features and I'll let you make the decision yourself. New Features for SF 5: 1. Sample rates of up to 192 kHz 2. 24-bit file support, 32-bit floating point 3. Wave Hammer plugin (basically a software compressor) 4. Vegas Audio LE included 5. New interface (more buttons and stuff) 6. Perfect Clarity Audio support (a highly compressed, zero quality loss audio codec, which is actually pretty useful) That's about it. I'm sure there are other users here that can give you lots of helpful advice in your decision. Best wishes, Nick LaMartina |

If 96Khz 24bit ability is your highest priority, then upgrade. If having more useful professional features is your highest priority then stick to 4.5 with all your plugins. |

I'm impressed. The upgrade process was smooth. It seems to function well with my MOTU 2408 . . . it sounds great!!! Again, Thanks. Ted Fiebke, RN - President Muse-Med, Inc. dba TOO LIVE NURSE http://www.toolivenurse.com |
