A potential customer for Acid 7 posted this question at KVR

"does Acid Pro 7 provide midi and clock to effects?"

I don't know the answer, and he can't post here because he does not own Acid yet..... If anyone can answer it would be a big help.....

thanks

yes. It is in one of the menus, and it is disabled by default. You can also set it to have a button on the toolbar if you want

Thanks shakey.... Peter was kind enough to answer the question on KVR. Glad to see the involvement in KVR.

I think you are talking about sending MIDI Clock or MTC, which ACID
does, but not what the user was asking about.

"does Acid Pro 7 provide midi and clock to effects?"

I use Acid's midi clock function to send tempo data to my Adrenalinn pedal. One of the Adrenalinn's major features is beat synced effects so this function is crucial to me. Works a treat.

Not sure if that's what you mean by your question but that's how i use it.

cheers

Maybe I misunderstood.

Perhaps the user did want to send MIDI and Clock to external hardware effects. Of course ACID can do this.

Just out of curiosity (I can't remember the answer) do you really have to own a version of Acid to post here? I thought you could just register and post.

PS I thought he was asking about internal (soft) FX. Unless he specifically mentioned external hardware, you would think he meant plugins.

well plugins would detect the host clock automatically, so I thought he meant hardware fx. If he meant fx in another app, you would have to use midi routing software to do that from acid. Midiox will do that, or it might be midi yoke, i forget, they are freeware, and will set up virtual midi cables between your programs
