Personally i use acid just as a hobby. I enjoy kicking hot rap beats. Someday i might burn a cd of a bunch of my own songs and bump them on my stereo. I also like to recreate beats from rap songs or just make my own. I also like using mostly one shots, and making songs from scratch, i dont get much satisfaction from just pasting melodies on to my songs. What uses do you all have for acid? Does anybody use it professional, for a real band?if that possible. And what kind of music do you make? |

Like you, I also use it more as a hobby. But when you can, burn some of your work to CD and you might find yourself listening to it in a different way. Personally, I like anything unusual, but try and concentrate on Industrial and Rock. There are many professional bands that use Acid in many different ways--you'll find some on AcidPlanet. |

Just recently, I threw a few drum loops together, added a droning synth pad and plugged my guitar and bass in and threw together a pretty mellow, satisfying tune. I actually play along with the tune (a simple blues-like progression) to practice guitar soloing -- once I get to a decent enough level, I'll probably slap a solo on there as well. Unfortunately, I can't share the damn thing because when I encode it as an .mp3 or .wav file it becomes awfully distorted, but it's fun enough to have it around for my own use. I do wish there was a more efficient way to create your own beats than just slapping a bunch of one-shots down, but all in all, Acid's pretty damn cool. |
