K starters i wanna say paying 3 bones the first min. and
then 1 bone for ea. additional minute is total bullsh-t. I
pay for your product and u make me pay for your customer
service, thats ass backwards! Now to my problem. I want to
take a song i have created on my keyboard turn it into a
wav file then upload it into acid music. i want to then add
samples of my own over my song, both are wav files, ya w/
me? the problem lies in trying to edit my song or even the
sample as when i select it, it selects the whole
song/sample not a specific part. Why? I suppose I will
have to buy Sound Forge for editing but i wanna make sure
on this.

Well, TsOd, don't expect to get much help from a Sonic
Foundry representative with that kind of attitude. Sorry if
you're upset, but there are better ways of expressing
distaste that render higher quality results. Have you read
your manual? Checked the help file? Etc? Those help a lot.

Anyway, lemme make this easy for you. Follow my
instructions exactly:

1. Connect your keyboard to your computer via stereo cable.
This means runs a cable from the OUPUT (possibly
labeled "HEADPHONES") of your keyboard to the INPUT of your
computer's sound card, preferably "LINE IN". If all you
have is "MICROPHONE", use that, but avoid it if possible.
You MIGHT need adapters.

2. Double-click on the little yellow speaker on the lower
right hand side of your Windows toolbar. Select "OPTIONS",
then "PROPERTIES". Click the "RECORDING" radio button.
Click "OK". Now check "SELECT" under the input that your
keyboard is hooked to. Adjust the sensitivity if neccesary.

3. Open ACID

4. Hit the red dot (aka RECORD). A window will pop up. Hit
start to begin recording the input from you keyboard.
Press "STOP" when you're done (note that it's preferable to
have a drum beat beneath to keep tempo).

5. If you want to trim your song, use the BRUSH or ERASER
tools in ACID.

6. To record a vocal track over the keyboard track, change
your input to "MICROPHONE" (as shown above with "LINE IN",
assuming you have a microphone plugged in. If you don't,
get one, and do so).

7. Hit "RECORD" again. Press "START". Listen to your
keyboard track play, and sing over it. Press "STOP" when
done.

There you go. A keyboard and vocal track, seperate, and
both synched together. Vola. Have fun, and good luck.

Always for free,
Nick LaMartina
