Subject:Priority bugs found in SF 5.0 !!

I found a pretty major bug in SF 5.0

Problem:

Resampling a 24/16bit 96/44.1 .wav file down to 8bit with
anti-aliasing doesn't work properly.
** IT ALWAYS SETS THE SAMPLE RATE ONLY - NOT RESAMPLING**
This causes sloooooooooooow audio playback.

- Open a 16-bit/44.1 (or higher) .wav file
- select all in the .wav, go to PROCESS\RESAMPLE
- select Resample to 8000 with anti-alias filter
- preview the playback

** Should playback at new rate just fine. It doesn't
however, causing slooooooow playback.

** This occurs if "Set sample rate only (do not resample)"
is checked or not.

Other issues I would like to see addressed:

When previewing EQ's (anything in the PROCESS section), why
limit the preview to such a short length? Can't you preview
through a whole file? It should (such as it can in DX
plugs).

Incorporate CD Architect (obvioulsy). Even if it's no
longer supported. Or..... update the burning functionality
in SF 5 to that of CD Architect. It's more advanced.

Thanks,
Joed

They do preview the whole file. Are you sure you have "real-
time" checked?

Hi JoeD,

Regarding previews... you can set the length (and other
options) to determine how Sound Forge will handle previews.
Just go to Options>Preferences>Previews.

Best,
Scott

Of course not, when you actually use the software correctly
and set your preview length in the preferences you don't
have these problems......."boy"

Ahh...the vegas post hit you on the mark I see. Is it YOUR
business I forgot about the preview setting?
No.

as for our last discussion:
Hey don't get pissed at me cause your a moron.

By the way, the reply from SF on the bug was that it will
be fixed in 5.0a. Genius.
