I know Acid Pro handles 32bit files- I have Acid Pro 1 which only handles up to 24bit- but obviously some dithering happens when you burn to a 44k/16bit wave file- so my question is what does Acid use for dithering down to 44/16 resolution? More specifically how does Acid Pro 1 do this? Is it , or is it like Apogee in quality? |

Dithering happens, I think, in many processes where level changes occur. Yes I would be nice to know for curiosity sake, but unless there is actually some problem it's not really worth worrying about whether it is generic triangular, Apogee, Izotope, or whatever flavour-of-the-month is the current fad. geoff |
