Subject:preview noise bugs?..also special menu is very special!

Has anyone gotten white noise instead of their preview? I can't seem to get either the beta or the full 5.0 release to preview
anything! esp for DX plugins...Preview works with "fade out"...

also... i'm finding the Special menu takes about 5 seconds to respond ...anyone else find that?
(this is on a dual 650 w/256MB Ram)...it should play nice, non?
