Subject:Couldn't lock memory for playback/record ??

I'm a long-time SF user, and just upgraded to SF 5.0. All existing audio manipulation is fine, but it crashes horribly every time I record -- anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes into the recording. The error message is: "Couldn't lock memory for Play/Record. The system is low on memory. Reduce the number of running applications and try again." Except it won't run again, until I reboot. It also says my scratch disk is full, which isn't true -- it's a 9 gig SCSI III disk that's empty. No other apps are running. Here are my stats: P III, 550mhz 384MB RAM Empty 9 gig SCSI III drive, audio only 3DLabs Oxygen video card Sound Blaster AWE 64 DPS Reality Audio Card The problem happens with either sound card, in any bit depth. I never had this problem with SF 3.0 - 4.5. SF Tech Support hasn't gotten back to me yet, but I may have to uninstall and go back to 4.0 or 4.5 in order to get this project done. -- Jon |
