Please someone tell me there is a way to change the default new project! Just about every other DAW I've ever used permits this ... but I can't find anything in the ACID help files to explain how to do it. To be clear I want this to open when I hit the new project icon ... I know how to set up a 'template' and individually load that. I have a regular set up with track fx and busses I'd like to use each time. Como |

I have long asked for configurable project 'templates' for both Acid and Vegas. The easy work-around is to assemble one (or several different) desired 'default' project layout (tracks, busses, even FX, etc), sans media, and save it with a desired name. Then deselect "Automatically Load Last...." in Preferences | General, and load it from 'recently used' file list and each time Save-As immediately with new project name. geoff Message last edited on7/10/2009 4:24:54 PM byGeoff_Wood. |

TY Geoff ... that's what I figured. Another great day in the world of Sony Software. Just found out that my wonderful new UAD2 plugins are useless in Acid Pro ... according to my 'crashing' experience and my 'crash' course over at the UAD forum. Obviously 'creativesoftware' is an after thought on a pimple on the butt of a gnat in a far distant galaxy in the universe of the Sony 'consumer' conglomerate. pHuN |

Why do you say that ? My understanding is that UAD are somewhat the odd ones out in the way they implement VSTs. Sounds more like a problem to be got to the bottom of than some vast conspiracy. I don't think that SCS is quite the vast conglomerate that you imagine. geoff |

Hey Geoff, I say that for a lot of reasons. As far as the UAD thing goes I've been told by a reliable source on the UAD forum that since AP5 problems have been repeatedly brought to Sony/ Vegas attention with no love. AFAIK UAD is pretty rock solid on all other DAWs including Logic, Reaper, Cubase, Ableton, Sonar and Traktion, to name a few. Most UAD problems relate to MOBOs, Chips and other hardware things. I also say that because if you troll this forum with some diligence you will see a host of never resolved issues, lack of timely revisions, etc., etc. Heck, if Reaper can put out a revision with new features and bug fixes about every other week, what do you think Sony could do with all it's resources if it wanted to? I could go on, but no need to kick the skeleton of this long dead horse. Think about your own helpful suggestion to me, in which you note how often you've requested such a seemingly simple thing as a 'user template? I do appreciate your help. Now if someone would just weigh in on my "Assignable FX" question. Regards, pHuN |
