Yes, if you have downloaded and installed the batch processor. However I prefer WinLAME for high bitrate encodes. (above 64kbps) |

I am a little confused about your comment concerning the "download and install the batch processor." When I installed the SF8 program, the batch feature was included. The reason for the confusion on my part is due to a Failure to convert my WAV files to MP3. I can convert the WAV files to other formats but I recieve the following when trying to convert to MP3: "MP3 Audio format not available." Based on your comment, is there something that I need to download to convert to MP3 format via Batch process? Note! If I convert a single WAV file with the "Save as" from the File menu, there is no problem. Thanks in advance for the help Message last edited on7/10/2009 10:23:41 AM byGamp. |

If I recall correctly, there was a separate license add-on for the mp3 codec, to pay the mp3 people. This may not be the case, but seems I've paid a little extra after a limited number of "sample" conversions. Once I did that, it's worked great for years. Cheers, Scott |

Since version 4.5 release e, the MP3 encoder has been included in the main program, no extra charge. Since version 6 there has been no separate activation for MP3; it's part of the general activation. I don't believe the studio version supports batch processing. The full version had a separate batch processing program up through version 5. There wasn't one for version 6, but if you still had the old version 5 batch processor you could still use it. Starting with version 8 there was scripting support and batch processing is now accomplished via scripting right withing Sound Forge. But, that's still only for the full version, not for the studio version. |

Well, I have the full version. This is definitely a gremlin. I tried the latest version of Dot Net - no good, My XP has the latest updates and SP. Though I am disappointed with version 9 of Sound Forge, I will install it and see if fixes the problem. I may have to try another batch product, if version 9 does not work.
