Subject:having problems recording .wav

when i attempt to record my acid tracks the track recorded
is blank... i was able to record a test bit of a song
earlier, but can't figure out what is the possible
prob...everything seems to work normally except when i go
to record i just make large empty .wav files that make no
sounds...

any ideas...

i've tried selecting all tracks, and have mucked around in
preferences...i have a creative sound blaster on a 500 mhz
AMD...
